It was an up-and-down day for Albany State basketball against Allen University as the Golden Rams split their matchup with the Yellow Jackets. The men’s team were victorious 74-64, while the ASU women came up short in overtime 66-59.
Jordan Simpson lead the way for men, putting in 20 points and grabbing 11 boards. Khalif Napolean chipped in wth 15 points and pulled in 9 rebounds of his own; Malik Parker also contributed 15 points and dished out 4 assists. Darius Williams led Allen with 22 points in a losing effort, with Stanley adding 15 points and 13 rebounds.
For the Lady Golden Rams, Brielle Johnson put in 16 points and 6 rebounds, with Kashay Henderson adding 15 of her own. For the victorious Yellow Jackets, Cardrina Nolen led the way with 23 points and5 rebounds.
Both teams hit the road for their next games. The Golden Rams will head to Savannah to take one take on the Tigers of Savannah State Monday. For the Lady Rams a trip to Birmingham is up next to face Miles on Thursday.
